High Quality Calcium Aluminate Refining Slags

Refining slag series are important material that is applied in the ladle furnace refining process, to purify the molten iron by deep desulfuration and deoxygenation. The refining slag series include pre-melted refining slag, sintered refining slag and synthetic refining slag, its main content is CaO and Al2O3. Premelted refining slag is a necessary additive to form basic refining slag used in secondary metallurgy to desulphurise and refine steel.

Family of synthetic slags developed in the form of sintered, pelletized or blends according to customer needs, with application in primary or secondary refining, steel pans and iron-alloys, with specific objectives, such as: absorption of inclusions; desulfurization of steel; sulfur stabilization.

We produce briquetted synthetic slag based on a mixture of powdered corundum and other raw materials with a high content of alumina, which is the main active ingredient of the product. Using a suitable combination of synthetic slag with lime and other slag-forming additives, we can produce basic refining slag with a low melting point. The slag is active and fluid, which is exactly what is needed to produce high-quality steel with low sulphur content and low content of undesirable inclusions.
