The main tasks of Submerged Entry Nozzle

*Transfer molten steel from Tundish to mold nozzle (inner nozzle)

*Protection of the melt against oxidation and temperature drop

*Pouring molten steel into the mold (submerged entry nozzle and submerged entry shroud)

In the manufacture of these parts, alumina-carbon, zirconia-carbon, and magnesia-carbon compounds are used in different areas of the nozzles to prolong casting sequences that meet different customer needs such as clogging reduction, corrosion resistance, long life and accidents reduction.

Features of Submerged Entry Nozzle

• Reinforced materials of discharge hole ensure small reaming for the longtime use and good erosion-resistant ability.

• Imported composite ZrO₂-C materials in slag line greatly ensure corrosion resistance of slag line section.

• Composite non-carbon liner meets special requirements of low carbon steel and high purity steel productions and prevent adhesion inside the nozzle.

• Composite nitride liner will not be wet with molten steel thus having high corrosion resistance.

• High-strength oxidation resistant coating prevent the material from oxidizing ,thus prolonging its life with the formation of liquid membrane on the nozzle during 600ºC~ 1200ºC.

• Al₂O₃-C body materials have good thermal shock stability and exfoliation resistance.

• Al₂O₃-C submerged nozzle without preheating can be used in emergency.

• Professional structure design can optimize flow field in mould, thus improving quality of cast slab.
